Oldies but Goldies

Sport is not a question of age!

There are plenty of examples of this: Exercise not only improves physical health, but the importance of sport and exercise as an indicator of quality of life becomes even more important with age. Physically active people are not only healthier, they also live happier lives. SV Vetteschoß-Kalenborn has responded to the call of numerous aging adults and offers activities for "oldies but goldies" of both sexes.

To maintain health and also prevent disease, the following exercises should be practiced in particular:

  • Spinal gymnastics
  • Intervertebral disc mobility
  • Strengthening the entire musculature
  • Prevention or relief of osteoporosis
  • Strengthening the cardiovascular system (no coronary sports)

The motivation provided by the group, the fostering of social contacts, and the mental balance provided by the activity will also make an important contribution to maintaining health and the enjoyment that comes with it. Especially for older people, sport is simply more than just exercise. Therefore, this program is particularly suitable for both women and men. There are no fixed requirements regarding age or fitness levels. The traditional term "senior sport" would therefore not do justice to this program in any way.
